Don't get fooled by the smiling face. The Cesium Vapor Magnetometer on the back is quite heavy.

Hi. Welcome to my website.

I am Asif, a Ph.D. student at the University of Oregon studying geophysics to better understand the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Originally I am from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I did my undergraduate degree in Geology at the University of Dhaka. In my forth year of undergrad I was involved in multiple focused research on hydrogeology, near surface geophysics and remote sensing. I also initiated a project on monitoring sea water encroachment into fresh-water aquifers in the coastal area of Bangladesh, which got a MS degree from my alma mater.

From being a resident of one of the most densely populated city in the world (i.e., Dhaka), I moved to Nebraska, USA (i.e., one of the least dense state in the world) to study about potential field modeling and how to tie that with seismic to better understand the earth.

After completing my Master's in Geophysics from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I again have moved to Oregon to study the Cascadia Subduction Zone via seismic tomography.
